If you’re out on the trails on the NSW South Coast and at the Mogo Mania on 20+21 June these next few weeks, you will notice a flash of teal, a cheeky cloud of dust, and a distinct bright blue smile tearing up the singletrack.
We are stoked to officially introduce the newest face of the Rocky Trail Entertainment family: Skid the Blue Tongue Lizard! Just like our Rocky Trail racers he’s gritty, he’s quick when he wants to be and absolutely loves to hang out on rocky terrain in the sun. What a match!
Skid is joining our legendary mascot Anthony the Ant – along with Anthony’s new fearless local mates Annie and Spike – to bring some serious lizard-power to the community.

How Skid Met His Pint-Sized Crew
A story of Dust, Grit, and Hitching a Ride…
Anthony our Ant is famously tough, but let’s face it – when you’re an ant, a single rock garden is a mountain range. When Rocky Trail moved to the NSW South Coast, Anthony was looking for some buddies who could handle the big lines – now he’s best mates with Annie and Spike, to form the ultimate pint-sized crew. Annie brings the fearless, cheering energy, while Spike is lives for pure speed.
One afternoon, Anthony and his mates were hitting a rocky descent on Mogo Trails when they saw a flash of teal and a bright blue tongue darting down the A-line. It was Skid, absolutely sending it on his rig, with an unbeatable grin on his face. The trio hitched a ride, instantly bonding over a shared love of dust, speed, and determination. Now, Skid, Anthony, Annie, and Spike are an inseparable team. They love the atmosphere of the events so much that you’ll see them turning up all along the East Coast and beyond! They will be at all the Rocky Trail races, all the time!
Who is who, you ask?
Anthony might be short, but geez he’s a character! He’s been with Rocky Trail since 2008 and the leader of the pack right out front. Annie is the fearless shredder riding shotgun on Skid’s back and Spike is hanging on for dear life, eyes wide and absolutely loving the high-speed ride.
Skid might have started out on the South Coast, but he’s an explorer at heart hitting our race circuit all year – now, wherever the Rocky Trail team is setting up their start lines, Skid goes. Just like our awesome community of riders and racers, Skid loves to travel. He’s a wanderer at heart who is always hunting for his next favorite trail. Whether we are racing in NSW, QLD, VIC the ACT, or exploring new destinations beyond, you can bet Skid will be packing his bags and heading along for the ride.
And, of course, when Sammy the Otter and Pete the Platypus come out for our Sea Otter Australia Festival, Skid and the gang are the locals who show him how to handle the dry, loose, and rocky Aussie terrain. Sammy brings the flow and the locals bring the tenacity and grit that the Rocky Trail community is known for.
